To send a security as a gift, guest users must purchase a gift certificate through Karmeq Redemptions. This gift certificate has a fixed value and can only be redeemed at Karmeq, by the recipient for a stock or Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) of his or her choosing. The gift certificate in and of itself is not a stock or security, or a recommendation to buy a specific stock or security.
Stock gifts are not automatically redeemable. The recipient must open a Karmeq brokerage account or have an existing Karmeq account in order to receive the stock gift. Once the brokerage account is opened, the recipient will receive a fractional share of the security which will go up and down in value. In the case of a stock gift to a minor, the minor’s parent or guardian must open up a custodial account before the stock gift can be redeemed and deposited into the minor’s account.
